1.To design the course of research projects under the guidance of Dr Kimata.2.To design experiments and conduct them accurately and reproducibly.3.To analyse and interpret data objectively and critically.4.To report and discuss results with Dr Kimata and other lab members.5.To present the work at internal and external seminars and at national and international scientific conferences.6.To contribute to the preparation of publications and applications for funding.7.To assist Dr Kimata with supervision of students and/or junior research staff working in support of the projects.8.To cooperate with Dr Kimata and lab members in organising lab regents and equipment and in maintaining high standard of the lab space.

Education & qualifications: A PhD or an equivalent degree in biomedical science. Scientific knowledge and skills (essential): • High skills in mammalian (human) cell culture • Experience in basic molecular and cell biological experiments, e.g., DNA cloning, western blotting and immunoprecipitation, etc. • Experience in light microscopy and quantitative image analysis. • Basic knowledge in molecular and cell biology, genetics, developmental biology, bioinformatics and statistics • Logical and critical thinking • Proficiency in academic written and spoken English to discuss, write and present research-related subjects Specialised knowledge & skills (desirable): • Knowledge on cell cycle research and/or cancer biology. • Experience in culturing mammalian tissues/organoids. • Experience in genome editing, protein biochemistry (protein purification and analysis, etc.), bioinformatics/computational biology, and advanced microscopic techniques (super-resolution microscopy, EM, etc.) Interpersonal & communication skills (essential): • Ability to communicate with lab members and other researchers in English • Ability to cooperate with and support colleagues and to maintain cohesive and collaborative relationships Relevant experience & skills (desirable): • Proficiency in Chinese • Publication in the scientific literature • Experience in presenting at international conferences • Experience in supervising students or junior colleagues • Experience in communicating and collaborating with scientists in relevant or different disciplines
